We are pleased to report that Mike Blomer has been re-elected as Chair of the Parish Council at our AGM held in May.  At the same meeting Tim Beresford was re-elected as Vice Chair.  We are sure they will continue to carry out an excellent job over the coming year.

Neighbourhood Plan – Referendum – 6th July 2017

Following consultation and publicity on the Submission Draft of the Hampton in Arden Neighbourhood Plan last September, the Plan and representations were progressed to independent examination. The Examiner’s report was received early in February and is published on the Solihull MBC’s website.  The report makes a variety of recommendations that are of a relatively minor nature and which do not fundamentally change the role and direction of the Plan.  The Examiner concluded that the Plan should proceed to Referendum, based on the Neighbourhood Area shown in the Plan, as the final part of the plan process.  Solihull MBC has accepted the inspectors report and recommendations and has arranged a local referendum to take place on the 6th July (further details will be posted on the Solihull MBC and Hampton websites in due course).  If more than 50% of voters are in favour of the Plan, it will become part of the adopted Solihull Local Plan (produced by Solihull MBC in December 2013).

An Update on the Taxi-Bus and Bus Service 89

As most of you will be aware, last year the Taxibus service was replaced by the new roaming bus route 89.  We would like to make sure that all Parishioners are aware that there is a shuttle bus available for those with mobility issues to take you from home to the bus stop.  Unfortunately, neither the shuttle bus nor the 89 can accommodate mobility scooters.

If you would like more information on the shuttle bus or are a previous Taxibus user who does not feel able to use the shuttle or 89 bus service please contact our Clerk, 01675 442017 or
