Parish Council Elections

Parish Councillors are elected for a four year term which ends with the election of a new Parish Council in May 2019.  If you fancy getting more involved in village life and helping towards the maintenance and improvement of our lovely village community then becoming a Parish Councillor may be for you! If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor please call, or pop in to see, our friendly Parish Clerk (Julie Barnes) to see what is involved.

Nomination papers will be available from Julie in the Parish Office (and will requiring the signature of two supporters).  These must be submitted to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council between the 27th March to 3rd April 2019.

SPEED WATCH – Back Up and Running – How to Volunteer!

Our local PCSO Aaron Murdoch has been in touch to confirm that the police are starting up the brand new SPEED WATCH! This will be rolled out across the rural area in the coming weeks. If you are interested in volunteering there will be training sessions running on the following dates: 28th February 2019 and 7th March 2019.  Sessions will be run from 7pm at Solihull Police Station (Homer Road, Solihull, B91 3QL).

Please note that all previous members will still need to attend this training.

Good News…. Streetwatch Is Now Up and Running!

We are pleased to advise that Streetwatch is now up and running in Hampton-in-Arden with nearly 20 “Streetwatchers” already signed up! Keep an eye out for them patrolling the streets and pavements near you in their high-vis jackets.  Evidence shows that this national police initiative is an active deterrent in reducing not only crime but also anti-social behaviour (including littering and dog fouling).  Streetwatch will work closely with our existing Neighbourhood Watch volunteers in order to provide the police with local intelligence.  There is also a regional web portal that allows all registered Streetwatchers to log any activity and intelligence which can then be reviewed and acted on by the police.

Although the numbers already signed up is a great start, the group would encourage as many residents as possible to sign up – particularly if we are to cover the whole village and at different times of the day and night.  Any resident who is interested in getting involved should e-mail their contact details to Julie Barnes ( and she will make the necessary arrangements with the police to get you signed up.

Hampton Festival – Save The Date

The date of this year’s festival will be weekend of 29th June!  This is to coincide with the tennis finals also taking place that weekend.  More details to follow!
