Residents will be aware of the planning application to build a substantial motorway service area on green belt land adjacent to the M42 off Solihull Road.  This application is likely to be considered by Solihull MBC early next year together with a similar application on land close to M42 Junction 4.

Local MP Dame Caroline Spelman is sponsoring a Parliamentary Petition calling for the application to be to be rejected as it is unsustainable, is a threat to road safety and because of significant transport and infrastructure changes that have occurred since the original application was made in 1999. You can read the notice of the petition here.

The Parish Council fully supports our MP and is urging residents to support and sign the petition. Please note that it is not possible to support the petition online.  The petition is available to sign at all of the following shops and businesses in the village:

  • The Parish Office
  • The Corner Shop
  • Number One Hair
  • Sandwiches @ No.6
  • Post Office
  • White Lion Inn
  • Village Stores and Wine Shop
  • St Mary`s Pharmacy

The petition will be open until the end of January 2018.
