We have received the following information from Solihull MBC about their Switch and Save scheme to help residents lower their home energy bills.
Since October 2015, Solihull MBC have launched three collective switching schemes, called Solihull Switch ‘n’ Save, designed to take the hassle out of searching for a cheaper gas and electricity provider.
Over 2,300 households in Solihull registered for the scheme and were offered average savings of £277, leading to 845 households switching supplier and together saving over £250,000!
The Council will be launching the scheme again in April 2017.
To get involved all residents need to do is have a recent energy bill to hand and visit here to register their interest. An auction will then be held where energy companies will bid for the opportunity to offer a cheaper deal. At no point are any personal details released to utility companies.
The new energy price offer will then be sent via email or post and residents will decide whether to Switch and Save – there is no obligation to switch and the entire process is completely free and you don’t need to live in Solihull to join in!!
More information is provided on the Switch and Save Poster (April 2017) and the Switch and Save Leaflet (April 2017)
