1.       Here to Help this Winter 2021

Winter can often be a difficult time for people. This year we know it could be even harder so Solihull Council has worked with local voluntary groups to create the Here to Help Winter 2021 booklet to help residents.

Please see the attached document ‘Here to Help Winter 2021.pdf’. Inside you’ll find information to help people keep warm, healthy and safe, plus details of financial help and assistance. Wherever possible there are telephone numbers as well as web addresses.

If you can’t find the help that you need in this booklet, then please call Solihull Connect service at Solihull Council and one of our advisers will assist – 0121 704 8000.

2.       Carers Information Event

An event is being held to celebrate Carers Rights Day, which is an annual awareness campaign that aims to raise awareness of carers and to help them access the right support. Whether you are a carer, a young carer, a family member or a professional, please come along to find out what support is available for carers in Solihull.

The event is due to take place at 4:30pm-7pm on Wednesday 24th November at Solihull Moors Football Club, Damson Parkway, Solihull, B92 9EJ.

Please see attachment ‘CRD 21 Flyer’ for more details about the event.  For more information or to book, please email centre@solihullcarers.org, or call 0121 788 1143, or visit: www.solihullcarers.org/events

3.       ‘Conversation Culture’ forum

Arts and Culture play a vital role in making Solihull a prosperous, healthy and attractive place to live and in bringing people together provides a sense of vitality and belonging. Both the council and local stakeholders play a vital role in shaping the cultural landscape for residents and providing opportunity for them to engage in a broad range of cultural experiences.

The council recognises that there is more that they can do to strengthen the cultural infrastructure in Solihull, and they are keen to develop an ongoing dialogue with local practitioners and organisations. They are therefore issuing an open invitation to a first ‘Conversation Culture’ forum as a space to discuss the opportunities and challenges as everyone moves out of the pandemic.

The event is an initial opportunity to engage in a rich conversation about the cultural offering in the borough, share ideas on what is working well and exploring how everyone can all play a part in shaping future opportunity. Whether you are a cultural and creative practitioner, freelancer, organisation or cultural venue, the forum would like to hear from you.

The event is due to take place from 5pm-7pm on Thursday 9th December at The Core, Homer Road, Solihull, B91 3RG.

Registration for the event can be done via Eventbrite via the following link:
