Following consultation and publicity on the Submission Draft of the Hampton in Arden Neighbourhood Plan last September, the Plan and representations were progressed to independent examination. The Examiner’s report was received early in February and is published on the Solihull MBC’s website.  The report makes a variety of recommendations that are of a relatively minor nature and which do not fundamentally change the role and direction of the Plan.

The Examiner concluded that the Plan should proceed to Referendum, based on the Neighbourhood Area shown in the Plan, as the final part of the plan process.

Solihull MBC has accepted the inspectors report and recommendations and has arranged a local referendum to take place on the 6th July (further details will be posted on the Solihull MBC and Hampton websites in due course).  If more than 50% of voters are in favour of the Plan, it will become part of the adopted Solihull Local Plan (produced by Solihull MBC in December 2013).
