Remembrance Sunday – 14th November 2021

An early reminder that this year’s Remembrance Day service and procession will be on Sunday 14th November (subject to any Covid restrictions that may still be in place at that time). As with previous events the High Street will be closed to through traffic between 10.30am and 12.00 noon to allow the procession from the church to the War Memorial to proceed safely.

Marshalls will be deployed to control traffic. If any residents would like to volunteer to be a marshall on the day then please contact the Parish Clerk.

Traffic Calming and Pedestrian Safety – Works Completed!

We are happy to report that the first phase of the traffic calming and pedestrian safety measures have now been installed in the village!  Over the coming months both the Parish Council and Solihull MBC will be reviewing the newly installed measures to see if any additional works are necessary.

Furthermore, in October, Solihull MBC will be installing automatic traffic counters to measure speed and volume of traffic through the village.  We will keep you posted with the results!

Welcome Back Funding

The Parish Council applied to the Welcome Back Funding from the European Regional Development Fund (to support the safe return to high streets and help build back better from the pandemic) and we were successful!

We have been awarded funds for a number of new planters around the village.  The location of these has not yet been determined – keep your eyes peeled for them, they should be in place by March 2022!

Allotments – Eastcote Lane

More good news… the planning application for new allotments has now been submitted to Solihull MBC.  Hopefully we will be able to report on the outcome in the next couple of months – watch this space!

Hampton Wombles

The Hampton Wombles, organised by Alison Rolf (our very own Solihull Ward Councillor), are back in action! The Wombles do an amazing job litter picking in and around the village. They meet once a month and are always looking for people to take part.

The next wombles meet up is to be held on 9th October. Please meet at the White Lion Car Park at 11am.

Dates going forward for the rest of 2021 are 13th November and 11th December.
